CHECKING THE STEERING HEAD

s WARNING:

1. Place the scooter on a flat surface

NOTE:

Support the scooter on its centrestand

2. Lift up the front wheel

3. Check:

• Steering assembly bearings

Grasp the bottom of the lower front fork tubes and gently rock the fork assembly. If it is loose, adjust the steering head

4. Remove:

• Upper front panel

5. Adjust: Steering head

************************************************************ Adjustment steps:

• Loosen the ring nut (upper), lock washer, ring nut (centre) and the rubber washer.

• Loosen the lower ring nut

• Tighten the lower ring nut using the ring-nut wrench)

36 Nm (3,6 m•kg)

NOTE:

Set the torque wrench at right angles to the ring-nut wrench

Ring-nut wrench: 90890-01403

• Loosen the ring nut (lower)1/4 turn, then tighten it to specification

22 Nm (2,2 m•kg)
